DFI erhält Zertifizierung für Treibhausgas-Bilanzierung und fördert Aktivitäten zur Energiewende

DFI, Taiwan, 08.07.2022 - DFI (2397), the world leading manufacturer of Embedded Motherboards and industrial computers, announces that the company has received the ISO 14064-1 certification for greenhouse gas accounting from an international third party. Based on the goal of protecting the Earth and ensuring sustainable operations, DFI has conducted a carbon footprint assessment for three consecutive years. This also aligns with Taiwan's 2050 Net Zero Emissions Plan and aims at an energy transition.

The severe impacts of climate change are scientifically proven, making the issue a global headline. In response to the global trend towards zero emissions, the National Development Council (NDC) has published the “Taiwan 2050 Net Zero Emissions Declaration” this year. Net-zero carbon emissions have become a corporate goal.

According to the National Development Council, the 2050 Net Zero Emissions Plan will be based on four main directions: “Energy Transition,” “Industrial Transition,” “Living Transition,” and “Social Transition.” In response to the 2050 Net Zero Emissions Plan, DFI aims to obtain, in addition to greenhouse gas accounting according to ISO 14064-1, ISO 50001 certification for energy management in the future, to track all greenhouse gas emissions. For the headquarters, emissions in 2021 were reduced by approximately 12 tons compared to the baseline year 2019.

Jia-Hong Su, CEO of DFI, explained that DFI’s mission is not only to promote sustainability but also to actively support the energy transition externally. Industrial computers, with their high computing power and broad temperature and voltage range, can be used in solar and wind energy generation, vehicle computers, and charging stations, providing diverse solutions for green energy, electric vehicles, and energy supply. This helps companies save energy, reduce waste, and thereby lessen their environmental impact.

Driven by the wave of infrastructure projects fueled by global industrial automation and digital transformation, intelligent manufacturing has become a long-term and sustainable necessity. DFI collaborates with its partners and subsidiaries to promote various programs for reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions and to improve energy efficiency. DFI not only upholds its corporate social responsibility but also helps other companies accelerate their transition, meet the demands of new infrastructure projects, drive innovation, and increase productivity to seize new market opportunities.
