DFI, Taiwan, 10/07/2021 - The newly announced TGU series from DFI features the 11th Gen Intel® Core™ SoC processor, a high-performance SoC with an integrated GPU and CPU based on the new Intel® Iris® Xe architecture, enhancing AI capabilities at the edge computing level. The TGU series not only accelerates processing of multiple simultaneous tasks, but can also synchronize edge devices over 2.5G Ethernet and high-bandwidth wireless networks such as 5G and Wifi 6, enabling true and seamless machine collaboration in automation.
The new generation of the TGU series includes a range of industrial embedded computing solutions with specifications from Single Board Computer (SBC), Mini-ITX, COM Express Compact, COM Express Mini to fanless industrial computers, designed to meet various Edge AI Vision applications such as industrial control, monitoring, traffic analysis, and more.
The integrated graphics processor within the new Xe architecture offers groundbreaking GPU graphics performance for the TGU series. Combined with Deep Learning Boost (DL Boost), previously supported only by Xeon processors, and Vector Neural Network Instructions (VNNI), running on the CPU, it accelerates deep learning and delivers faster, more accurate inferences.
Moreover, the TGU series is the first platform to offer data transfer with PCIe 4.0 and the forward-looking USB Type-C featuring three built-in functions. PCIe 4.0 provides transfer speeds of up to 16 GT/s, optimizing various expansion and I/O interfaces for more efficient real-time data transfer between devices. Additionally, the USB Type-C port can support three functions: display interface such as 4K DisplayPort, data transfer like LAN and NVMe SSD, and power supply for the USB hub and external NVMe SSD, making device configuration more flexible.
The new DFI TGU series offers a comprehensive range of performance optimizations for internal data transfer, external networks, AI functions, IoT device management, as well as device integration and collaboration. It delivers an unprecedented and fast intelligent experience for visual AI analytics, factory automation, healthcare, and retail applications.
